LUES WILL RECOGNIZE WORLD KINDNESS WEEK NOV. 11-15
We observe World Kindness Week to highlight good deeds in our communities. Acts of kindness and goodwill are common threads that bind us. This week has become globally recognized and is now widely celebrated everywhere. Participants from across the world come together to perform acts of kindness. The sole purpose of this week is to focus on the positivity that surrounds us every day. It’s a week to learn, teach, and share our kindness with others.

"Family engagement is not a single event. It is a shared responsibility in which regular two-way communication insures that the student is on track to meet grade-level requirements." - Heather Weiss

Toombs County Schools has continued to monitor roads throughout the day. Our transportation department and bus drivers are working with families who live on roads impacted by the rain to provide a safe travel home today and to school tomorrow. Should you have any questions regarding school bus routes, please contact the Toombs County School System Transportation Department.

LUES FAMILY FOCUS: MATH AND SCIENCE AT HOME
Grow Your Own Garden: Create a family garden by planting seeds and watching them grow. If you don't have space for a garden, watching potted plants grow can be just as rewarding. This hands-on experience can be fun for the whole family.

Connections count!

LUES would like to invite our students to wear red, white and blue for Veterans Day, Monday, November 11, 2024. Having our students at the Veterans Day program with red, white, and blue will add to the celebration and honor the service and sacrifices of our veterans. By wearing these colors, our students will show their support and respect for the men and women who have bravely served our country. We encourage all students to participate in this spirit of patriotism and remembrance. We look forward to seeing everyone dressed in red, white, and blue as we pay tribute to our heroes during the Veterans Day program. Thank you for joining us in this important observance!

Discover the magic of storytelling at our Student-Created Book Display at Lyons Upper! We invite all classes to join us in celebrating the incredible talent of our young authors. Come and explore the imaginative worlds Mrs. Payne's 5th grade students have created! #shine

Schools & Communities working together make a positive difference in the lives of children!

LUES FAMILY FOCUS: MATH AND SCIENCE AT HOME
Children are filled with curiosity! By exploring math and science concepts at home, you can help them find answers to all their questions and continue to foster a curious spirit. In our ever-evolving world, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) skills have become increasingly important. We will be sharing some engaging math and science experiments that you can explore together at home. By engaging in these math and science experiments at home, you can inspire a love of learning in your child and help them develop valuable problem-solving skills. Children love hands-on projects and the time to explore together- it's a fun way to bond and create lasting memories while learning and growing. Happy experimenting!
