Dear Families,
We would like to share some important announcements and celebrations from the past week with you. We are also grateful for your continued partnership and support in our shared goal of providing the best education for your children.
If you have missed me 1/25/24 and 1/26/24, I have been out for some training to help our students become even more successful in reading, and also working with other principals to learn how to make LUES the best place it can be.
Important Announcements:
The 100th day of school will be celebrated on January 30, 2024. We are excited to reach this milestone and will have a special dress up day to celebrate.
The 101st day of school will follow on January 31, 2024. We will continue the celebration with engaging learning experiences and dressing up like 101 Dalmations.
School Counselor Week will take place from February 5-9, 2024. Let's show our appreciation and celebrate Mrs. Wright for her dedication and support to our students.
On February 6, 2024, we have organized a PBIS reward field trip to the Pal Theatre to watch the DINO SHOW. It will be an exciting and educational experience for our students. Please send $6 and their permission slip.
On February 9, 2024, we will have a PBIS reward party that includes a fun game of Bingo and delicious brownies. Students who have earned this reward have shown exemplary behavior and dedication to their studies. Please consider donating brownies, juice packs, and/or prizes.
Celebrations from the Week:
We would like to recognize and celebrate the following achievements:
All students who scored green or met their goal on iReady Diagnostics were acknowledged for their hard work and progress. Congratulations!
We also commend students who have had perfect attendance and have had no behavior referrals. To recognize their efforts, they were given extra recess time.
Additional Information:
We encourage you to continue supporting your child's learning at home. Regular reading and practice of math skills will greatly benefit their progress. Please reach out to your child's teacher if you need any resources or guidance.
Thank you once again for your unwavering support. Together, we can help your children thrive and succeed.
Warm regards,
Rhonda Stone
Principal, Lyons Upper Elementary

LUES 7 Mindsets 100% ACCOUNTABLE: FOCUS YOUR ENERGY
Students at this age have a lot of energy, do not sit still for very long, have a short attention span, and sometimes have a hard time focusing on or repeating what has been said. The 100% Accountable Mindset teaches us to focus our energy and to direct our efforts and time toward intentionally reaching our goals.
