4th grade ELA classes got to celebrate i-Ready Reading growth before Spring Break with a movie and treat!

Ms. Murray and Mrs. Kight's fourth grade science student, Ma'Cah Owens, completed this Lego model of the solar system at home. He was so excited to show it to his classmates. Thank you, Ma'Cah, and great job! 👏🌎🪐🌞

Mrs. Braddy and Mrs. Payne’s 5th grade class wrapped up their poetry unit in the best way—our very own Poetry Café! ☕️📖 With café music setting the mood, students shared some incredible poetry readings that truly showcased their creativity and growth. To top it all off, everyone enjoyed delicious chocolate milk “lattes” while celebrating their hard work. What a perfect way to settle into spring break—relaxed, inspired, and proud of all they’ve accomplished! 🌸✨

These 4th grade math students topped their class IXL leaderboards! 📊Students earned their spots by scoring proficient on the highest number of IXL lessons (Jan. - Spring Break). We are so proud of their hard work, consistency, and determination. Way to go, boys and girls! 👏

Toombs County Family Connection is hosting a Kinship Caregiver Support Group on Thursday, March 27 from 6:00–7:30 PM at 125 Church St., Suite 104 in Vidalia.

This group is designed for grandparents, relatives, and other caregivers who are raising children in kinship care situations. It’s a welcoming space to connect with others who understand the journey, share experiences, and learn about helpful resources.

Childcare and dinner will be provided to make attending easier for families.

Weather Update for Toombs County Schools:
At this time, all Toombs County schools will operate on a normal schedule tomorrow, March 16, 2026. We will continue to closely monitor weather conditions and remain in communication with local emergency management officials. The safety of our students and staff is always our top priority. If any changes become necessary, we will communicate updates promptly through our official social media outlets.

Finley Crow, a 5th grade student in Mrs. Richter’s class, built his own motorized windmill while reading the novel called The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind by William Kamkwamba and Bryan Mealer. He was inspired to make it because William built a windmill from scratch to provide electricity for his home in Malawi, Africa. His efforts prove that anything is possible with effort and ingenuity.

The last Parents to Breakfast was a success! We love seeing our students and families start off the day with breakfast together.
