Virtual Test Prep Georgia Milestones Parent Night

Dear Parent(s) / Guardian(s),
Tonight, is our Virtual Georgia Milestone Test Prep Parent Night via our LUES Facebook page. Students and teachers are diligently working to prepare for the state standardized test which will take place April 19-23. Some parents have asked for suggestions on how to help their child prepare at home. Mrs. Martin, our LUES instructional coach, will provide a brief introduction about test preparation this evening. We will provide various test prep links with strategies to help prepare your child for the upcoming Georgia Milestones assessment.
A fun way to get involved:
A “Test-Taking Strategies” Flocabulary video (less than 3 minutes) and quiz have been assigned to your child. You can access it by clicking on the Flocabulary icon in your student’s DAWG house. Every family that participates will have their LUES student entered in a drawing for a prize basket! For an additional ticket in the drawing, post a picture of your family watching the video and taking the quiz in the comment section. Deadline for completion is Thursday, Feb. 18.
Let’s Be Better Together,
Tabatha B. Nobles

SchoolMessenger is our new text messaging service for the Toombs County School System!  We are excited about this service because it takes the place of the REMIND system that many of our teachers have used in the past.  All of your child's teachers will still be able to contact you through ONE service.  Lyons Upper Elementary School AND the Toombs County Board of Education can also send out messages through this same service should there be announcements, school closings, emergencies, etc.  The messages can be in the form of text messages, emails, or even phone calls!  We are setting up the program now, so go ahead and get signed up today.  We will be sending out more information very soon!
