The Preamble by Mrs. Murphy's students

Thursday, September 17th is Constitution Day or Citizenship Day.  It is an American federal observance that recognizes the adoption of the United States Constitution and those who have become United States citizens.  It is normally observed on September 17th, which is the day in the year 1787 that delegates to the Constitutional Convention signed the document in Philadelphia.

Please enjoy our video of Mrs. Murphy's students reciting the Preamble.

SchoolMessenger is our new text messaging service for the Toombs County School System!  We are excited about this service because it takes the place of the REMIND system that many of our teachers have used in the past.  All of your child's teachers will still be able to contact you through ONE service.  Lyons Upper Elementary School AND the Toombs County Board of Education can also send out messages through this same service should there be announcements, school closings, emergencies, etc.  The messages can be in the form of text messages, emails, or even phone calls!  We are setting up the program now, so go ahead and get signed up today.  We will be sending out more information very soon!
